A different bark

Woofbarkwag is about to under go a few changes. For a while I’ve now been writing about life with dogs and on a range of topics from behaviour through to caring for dogs. As time has come I’ve sort of come to the conclusion that this blog should go in a different direction. I already run a if you want to label it ’serious’ blog in the sense of Diary of a website which focuses on design and running a design business. I feel that I want to explore a little more light hearted approach with Woofbarkwag. For a while, I was toying with the idea of actually ending this blog due to commitments and other issues that meant I couldn’t dedicate enough time to it. These 2 ideas of needing something a little more lighter and of not feeling this blog fitted anymore swam about in my head for a while and have resulted in the new direction I want to take this blog in.

So, what is this new direction? Well I’m going to still do the occasional article but the focus on these is going to move for a rather more interesting take. The entire blog in the main is going to move across to a more story telling focus where Barley and Dillon to a certain extent are going to take over the blog. No, I haven’t gone mad. I want to explore what it would be like to write from their perspective, take images from their perspective and basically let my imagination play a little with this blog - I want to bring some fun back into blogging for myself. I’m not going to totally move away from other contents but I will be using authors to separate the contents on this blog.

All of this means a reworking is needed of this blog. I need to upgrade wordpress as it’s been neglected for a while over here, I also feel with this new direction a new design is required. Whilst this all won’t happen immediately I do plan to dedicate the next few weekends to this transition of woofbarkwag starting with this coming weekend. So, expect to start to see changes over the next few weeks around here.

In part the fact that at 9rules this blog has been in the personal section is making me lean towards this as a good decision of making it more about the lives of my dogs than a behaviour / article based blog. I hope this works out as it’s a bit of a risky move I think in some respects. I hope to avoid the cheese that could ensue from this and provide a more light hearted take that is fun to read and fun for me to write. One original idea around here was of dog tales and this is harking back to that root. I would at this point like to thank Cas for when I told her this direction change idea supporting me in it, hearing I wasn’t mad in this idea was great. So, here’s to the future of woofbarkwag and I hope you like what is to come.
