Dillon’s graduation
I am pleased to let you all know that last week little Dillon (well not so little anymore as he is now bigger than Barley) passed his puppy foundation class. It all went well and he excelled himself in the exam, even doing above and beyond what was expected of him. He really is coming on, yes he has those pre-teen pup moments of ‘what on earth are you doing now’, but these are getting less and less.
One of the biggest things we have done was yesterday when we attended our first proper training class. He’s now in the bronze kennel club class which means any dogs no matter what age, currently he’s the youngest by many months. It was a big scary and strange for him seeing all the bigger dogs and a lot of them had ‘issues’ of varying degrees. We ran through the basics that were needed to pass this class and he proved himself a little star again responding to things he’s not even done before.
It’s such a proud moment when he performs well and really pays back and then some for all the work we’ve done with him so far. It’s been a long 6 months of training but the foundations we are laying are already proving to make our and his life a lot better. Hopefully it will only get better as we’re going to try to go all the way up to the gold and then when he’s old enough it’s agility classes so he can join in with Barley.
